THE WISMA PKPSM KELANTAN

The idea of owning a secretariat burst out since 1995. Agreed by the Kelantan Education Department, a committee was organized to proceed the matter. The School Complex, Wakaf Mek Zainab, Kota Bharu was chosen as a site. The tender was then issued on Mei 1999 and followed by the construction work seven months later.

The RM 218,000.00 building completed on July 2000 and was officially inaugurated by the Director General of Education of Malaysia, YBhg Datuk Hj. Rafei bin Mahat on October 2000. Memorandum of Understanding(MoU) was also signed on that particular month and year.

The building comprises dormitories, a hall and a conferencence room. As a matter of appreciation to the State Education Department, part of the building is granted to the Kelantan School Sport Council(MSSK) to develop sport activities and other social functions but priority must be given to PKPSM.

It can be clearly seen from Jalan Long Yunus, hardly a couple of kilometre from the heartof the capital city, Kota Bharu the Islamic City and only a stone throw from neighbouring schools, SMK Kota Bharu, SMK Puteri, SMK Ismail Petra and SMK Putera.

The new year of Hijriah 1430, in the Muslim calender, starts with the month of Muharram. It literary means to forbid or cease fire. It is a tradition to mark its coming, some folk cooperate to cook a spicy porridge known as 'bubur asyura'. Teachers, students and supportive staff of SMK Pak Badol is not an exceptional. The porridge is cooked in a huge half oval shape pot known as kawah. Main ingredients are cereal such as rice and corn, nuts, tubers, sugar and salt to taste, coconut milk to make it fatty, beef or chicken and grounded spice. It takes a long, exhausted and tears but interesting six hours to serve. The most important, of course, cooperation, patience and tolerance. We are to prove that we possess all these qualities. All teachers, students and their parents and staff of this school, our neighbours and some passerby walk away with their share.

An oration in memory of the migration of the beloved Prophet Muhammad(bless upon him) and his faithful companions from Makkah to Madinah and the importance of sacrification was held.

SMK PAK BADOL; The Panoramic Views

Green, shady and conducive "Wakaf Comel" or The Beautiful Gazebo for staff and students to relief and relax.















Edible garden comprising local vegetables, some fruits plants, a mushroom house and a fish pond. In 2008 this garden won the 1st place in such competition organized by the Federal Agriculture Marketing Authority(FAMA). This year(2009) we are looking forward to retain the trophy and absolutely to make it much better .















The Herbal garden containing some valuable medicinal herbs such as mengkudu, kacip fatimah and misai kucing, tujuh jarum, serai wangi etc. Formerly a few longjack or tongkat ali was planted but disapppeared before it reached maturity, until at this moment is still at large.

Part of the playing field, the "astaka"or stage and students' hostel in the foreground. The hostel acomodate 150 students comprising 90 girls and 60 boys, physically well equipped with comfortable bedrooms, study rooms, prayer rooms, warden quarters, dining rooms and a mosque.

I begin the day as the Principal of SMK Pak Badol on the 1st of December 2008. Categorizes as a rural school in the district of Bachok, Kelantan, one of the 14 schools administer by the District Education Office of Bachok. This school is so call in relation to the village, Pak Badol one the villages in the mukim of Mahligai. It is accessible by road, only 20 minutes drive from Kota Bharu and 15 minutes to Pasir Puteh. So no problem at all. Above are some attractive panoramic views of the school esp. in the compound to share.

FROM SMK PAK BADOL TO SMK BACHOK

Thursday 22nd of Jan.2009, the sending off ceremony was held in respect for the former Principal Hj. Ahmad bin Abdullah, the present principal of SMK Bachok. A friend of mine since childhood. I called him "Fuad" his family's pet name. It began at noon with a farewell speech, exchanging presents and gestures, a farewell march accompanied by staff and pupils and the beating of kompang and bunga manggar. Also present was the Head of School's Parents and Teachers Society. The party reached SMK Bachok by 1.00 in the afternoon and was well received by the Staff and pupils. The ceremony ended at half past two after the welcoming speech and lunch. He was pretty lucky because of the permitted weather. Good Luck and enjoy yourself here.

SMK Bachok in my memory. I received my early education here, together with Hj. Ahmad. We pursued our education under the same roof but enclosed within the different four walls. I took a glance at several places and here some of the memories to share:

1. At my former Form 5 classroom I could remember I was whipped by the headmaster, En. Mokhtar Hassan for obtaining poor marks in a significant school examination. I took this as a challenge, I struggled and at last I was declared as the best student in MCE 1970, which brought me to further my 6th Form education in SDAR Seremban. I met him several times and the moment I could not forget, he hugged me and with a lovely whisper "I am proud of you my boy". "I owe you my heart, Sir", I replied.

2. At the canteen, I could still remember myself as a naughty boy. I bought an ice 'kepal'. After sucking the juicy content, I threw the tasteless ice and unfortunately hit one of the girls. The ice rolled down into her blouse and she screamed because of coldness. I was then punished by standing on the chair, so shameful and yet so sorry.
One day in the year 2007, I met that girl in Machang. We still recognized each other. She is a grandma with two grandchildren by her side.

3. At the far end, just across the playing pitch, I could still remember myself and some of the boys were picking and gathering young leaves from 'kandis' trees(pucuk pokok kandis) which were abundant in the area for our appetite. The taste was quite acidic but more tasty to be taken with salt. Some of us came to school with half of the pocket filled with this chemical, including myself and Ahmad. Now those trees had vanish and replaced by buildings.

FROM SMAS TO SMK PAK BADOL

SMK AB. SAMAD, Pulai Chondong, synonym SMAS, I take my body away but I leave my heart 2U.

SMK Pak Badol, I come 2U with my body and soul.

I have been serving SMAS for more than 5 years(1.3.2002 - 15 Nov. 2008). Here, in SMAS I learned to be a real Principal and Administrator. I learned to be patience, humane, courage and knowledgeable. It taught me to be kind and sometimes cruel. I willingly made a move in need of the department. I left SMAS on the 14th of Jan. 2009 and supposed to be a colourful sending off ceremony prepared by the school. Unfortunately it was robbed off due to torrential downpour, but all staff and pupils of SMAS braved the rain. Only few snaps of photos were taken. I drove off to SMK Pak Badol by noon accompanied by 30 teachers and of course something valuable from them.

We reached SMK Pak Badol and was warmly welcome by the Principal and Staff. It was the same as in SMAS due to rainfall. We then moved to Bilik Gerakan accompanied by the staff and the beating of kompang and bunga manggar. Currently in SMK Pak Badol, I wish to learn more, to administer at my best before termination of my service as a government officer. In my maiden speech, I reminded them of three things:

• NEVER CALL ME BOSS;

• NEVER ASK " ARE YOU BUSY?";

• NEVER SAY " SORRY I AM DISTURBING"!

Baru-baru ini, kami exco PKPSM Cawangan Kelantan mengunjungi Ketua Pengarah Pelajaran Malaysia, YBhg Datuk Hj. Alimuddin b. Mohd. Dom di pejabatnya di Putrajaya. Tujuan kami bagi mengucapkan tahniah di atas pelantikan beliau. Kami disambut dengan penuh hormat. Kami sempat berbincang isu-isu pendidikan semasa. YBhg Datuk banyak memberi nasihat, ransangan dan harapan serta visi dan misi beliau terhadap pendidikan negara. Beliau berharap pencapaian pendidikan di Kelantan akan bertambah maju dan berjanji akan memberi perhatian dan mengunjungi Negeri Kelantan.
